Curated for your listening pleasure, these are ten new songs
we feel will be a worthy accompaniment throughout the week.
1. TERRY APALA – BACA
The Apala King has
been prolific of late, with his recent effort an ode to an African woman's
beauty. While its theme is consistent with Nigeria's musical acts, Terry Apala makes a decent fusion of
his usual sound with the Caribbean vibe.
2. DJ COUBLON ft Chidinma – Nwoke
The delectable fun sized Chidinma comes through on DJ
Coublon – frequent beat maker of
alleged love interest Kizz Daniel – Nwoke, a mid tempo love song.
3. TERRI – Bia
The Starboy signee releases his first song under the label:
a modest song produced by Damayo. Already creating a buzz for him, this single
is bound to succeed, with its casual Afro vibe.
4. BEATS BY JAYY ft Naeto C – Good Vibes Only
After splendid production performances on Loose Kaynon and A-Q's Crown, the beat maker and songwriter enlists Hip Hop veteran Naeto C for a song that promises to go along with every fun moment in the
listener's life.
5. BLAQBONEZ – Denied
Off his debut album Bad
Boy Blaq, this is one spectacular
cut that will have you bouncing in no time to the infectious bounce of the Bad
Boy's rhymes as he charts his efforts in the musical territory.
6. DR SID ft SEYI SHAY – Deep Down
Seyi Shay has always been open about topics
regarding sexuality and on this, she engages in a back and forth with Dr. Sid. A quite flirtatious one as
they both tease their sexual escapades to each other within each other boundaries.
7. TAY IWAR – Miracle Girl
Off his trio of
released songs from his forthcoming 1997
album, is this cut.
A piano stings from the background, and Tay's voice is heartbroken and he sings about love, about a girl
who he's sufficiently eulogized as the title suggests. There's a haunting
scream as the song fades.
8. LAMBOGINNI – Give Me Love
Aftermath a
successful United States tour of his album Salt,
the activist/musician is back with a sultry love song dedicated to...love.
Produced by STO, this single proves
Lambo's zeal to recover for lost time in a scene with so many acts ready to
fill up every space.
9. BLAQBONEZ ft Oxlade – Mamiwota
The immensely talented Oxlade
comes through on the dazzle of his hook and verse on this groovy, dancehall
targeted single from Bad Boy Blaq. A
solid song with enough potential to make you vibe along, tune in to your
feelings as you're serenaded by the young duo's appraisal of a woman's beauty.
10. SLIMCASE – Kalamo
Rave of the moment Slimcase
releases a tribute like song to Michael
Jackson, tuning down his Shaku Shaku for one of his more structured songs
yet.
