Curated for your listening pleasure, these are ten songs we
feel will be a worthy accompaniment throughout the week.
1.
BOOGEY
– Never Enough
The indie rapper’s collaborative project with
producer CHx kicked off with this,
an about three minutes song on his skill and his status in the industry.
2. ISAAC GERALDS – Ewaoluwa
Returning from a musical hiatus to serve up this one on his
wife’s birthday, the sweetly voided guitarist is one man in love and how sweet
it is to watch!
3. MR. EAZI – Yard and Chill
Off his Lagos to London mixtape comes this
never-heard-before song, which has Mr.
Eazi showcasing the flexibility of his vocals as he tries, successfully, to
match the genius of the song’s production.
4. D’BANJ ft. TIWA SAVAGE – Shake It
This mid tempo song which, thematically, is the older male’s
Fever is a vibe.
5. DUNCAN MIGHTY – Miekerasso
A Caribbean influenced cut which plays to the PH first son’s
vocal strength. Produced by Spellz.
6. DJ DEREKZ ft FLAVOUR & PHYNO – By My Side
The 2nite Music Group
in house DJ features his boss and Phyno
for a smooth, mid tempo song which relies on the poetic nature of the spoken
Igbo language.
7. MAY D ft. PERUZZI – By Force
May D hopes to
find his way back into the industry’s good graces with this one featuring the DMW act Peruzzi. By Force is
produced by Dannykull.
8. T’NEEYA – Text Me
The Aristokrat
signed vocalist releases this one, finding a suitable sound to back up her
sonorous singing; rendered in French and English.
9. FUNBI ft EFYA – Ride With You
The Collectiv3
member’s solo debut (which we reviewed here),
is a safe haven for hopeless romantics. On Ride
With You, he calls on the enigmatic Ghanaian Efya for one of lively moments of the EP.
10. MR. EAZI ft. 2BABA – Suffer Head
The legendary 2baba
delivers one of his more memorable feature performance in recent memory on this
laid back song about submission. The duo of voices are complimentary perfect
and when reviewing the mixtape, this was one of the early favorites.
