It’s the start of a new week again. After Nigerians exercised their civil rights of voting, the music have been released.

March begins on a very strong note, coming off the back of many first singles of the year from A listers while some not so known but immensely talented individuals have put out beautiful music. These are ten of such songs.

1.       NONSO AMADI – Emergency
The sweet voiced act releases Emergency, premiered on Hot 97. A breezy listen, it showcases incredible song writing and awesome vocal properties – things the young UK based Nigerian has been known to bring to the forefront of his music.

2.       LADIPOE – Jaiye (Time of Our Lives)
The Mavin signed artiste enlists the production expertise of his label mate and foremost Folk musician Johnny Drille. It is, as he aptly puts it, a vibe.

3.       BLACKMAGIC – Anything For Love
Ejay does know how to make a comeback. His latest releases (a duo of singles) feature Anything For Love, a song which thrives on his trademark mid tempo vibe. He also displays his more than average skill as both a singer and rapper on this one.

4.       SAM SUN – Breathless
This song, a mood setter, does feature some of the most remarkable production around and the artistes’ voices do justice to the overwhelming emotion being sung about.

5.       BURNA BOY – Dangote
On his first release of the year, Burna Boy reiterates the need to make money, invoking the name of a well known black billionaire.

The Spax produced song is an ode to place and love, Ajebutter gloriously singing them both to elevation.

7.       PATORANKING ft. DAVIDO – Confirm
The first collaboration between the musical giants is a total vibe with both artistes hitting it off well. It’s most likely that it will feature in Patoranking’s sophomore album, the long awaited WILMER.

8.       DAVINA ORIAKHI – Hosea 4 v. 6
The American – Nigerian act delves into a darker and more complex preoccupations of the human mind. It is a song which deserves an essay for its audacious theme but not taking anything away from its brilliance as a piece of music.

9.       808vic – this could be the end
As part of a 2019 released EP: this could be the end is a quiet song which features an intricate production pattern and ominous singing.
